March 14th, 2017 (Kitchener, ON): Lovell Corporation is thrilled to announce that our technology startup MyEffect has joined IMPACT 2030 as a Collaborating Partner. MyEffect is IMPACT 2030’s first ever small-medium sized enterprise (SME) partner and leading the way for more SME’s to actively participate in the coalition.
“The private sector has immense power and influence on the prosperity of our communities. Such power should be harnessed for good and solve our world problems.” Kelly Lovell shares in response to the importance of Impact 2030. “It is inspiring to see companies a part of Impact 2030 acknowledge this responsibility and step up to make a difference.”
IMPACT 2030 is the only business led effort designed to marshal the power of human capital investments to address the UN Sustainable Development Agenda. In 2015 United Nations General Assembly formally adopted the universal and transformative 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, along with a set of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 169 specific targets. Together, these goals, ratified by 193 countries across the world, strive to end extreme poverty, fight inequality, and address climate change. IMPACT 2030 partner network already consists of over 50 global enterprises, most of which are Fortune 100s, that have committed to a 15 year charter to dedicate their employee volunteer efforts to achieving one or more SDGs. A key element of this charter is to develop methodologies and frameworks that measure the impact of volunteer commitments.
“Volunteerism is a source of community strength, resilience, solidarity and social cohesion. It brings positive social change by fostering respect for diversity, equality and the participation of all. It is among society’s most vital assets.”
– Ban Ki-Moon, Former Secretary-General, United Nations
MyEffect’s software as a service (SaaS) solutions emphasize the value of skills-based volunteering and help organizations leverage their community impact to recruit and retain motivated talent. As a Collaborating Partner for Impact 2030, MyEffect will use its online platform to help people find, track and celebrate their actions towards the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. As a 15 time award-winning Youth Mobilizer, our CEO is dedicating additional resources to help Impact 2030 engage Millennial employees and young volunteers in SDG initiatives.
“At MyEffect, we believe that meaningful community connections come from empowering the passions of people, and big data can be used to advance social good.” Kelly Lovell explains. “I am thrilled to join IMPACT 2030 and connect with passionate corporate leaders, that like us, believe in taking action for a better future!”
A big step forward, MyEffect will be joining as a partner alongside multinational enterprises including Google, SAP, MARS Symbioscience, UPS, TATA Consultancy, Ritz-Carlton, Chevron and more, committed to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Lovell is the youngest CEO working with these global stakeholders to forward the goals and realize 2030 agenda.
About Impact 2030
Impact 2030 is the only private sector-led coalition, in collaboration with the United Nations, public and social sectors, and academia, that is aligning human capital investments through employee volunteering in the service of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We believe that corporations are a valuable resource uniquely poised to help respond to the needs of a rapidly changing world. The SDGs are focused on addressing the most critical issues in the world, including poverty, inequality and climate change. The objective of IMPACT 2030 is to align companies and their employee volunteer efforts with these global goals to create real and sustainable change.
IMPACT 2030 was created in response to UN Resolution A/RES/66/67 that encouraged further engagement with the private sector “through the expansion of corporate volunteering and employee volunteer activities”. The IMPACT 2030 coalition convenes leaders from corporations, the United Nations, civil society, academia, and philanthropic organizations. Each IMPACT 2030 partner company has committed to applying its employee volunteer actions towards one or more of the SDGs.
